1. Acceptance of These Terms

These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of the Ingested Dose Calculator. By accessing or using the application, you agree to these Terms and Conditions and the accompanying Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the application.

2. About the Application

The Ingested Dose Calculator is a free medical toxicology calculation tool. It converts reported product strength, amount ingested, and patient weight into estimated total-dose and weight-based-dose values. The calculator supports standard and substance-specific calculations involving acetaminophen, salicylates, fluoride, iron, methotrexate, and other toxicology-relevant substances. The application does not require an account, login, subscription, or payment.

3. Calculation Tool Only

The application performs mathematical conversions and dose estimations based solely on the information entered by the user. It does not independently: • Determine whether an exposure is toxic or nontoxic • Assess the severity or clinical significance of an exposure • Establish a diagnosis • Recommend treatment or an antidote • Determine whether laboratory testing is needed • Determine whether a patient requires observation, referral, admission, or discharge • Replace consultation with a poison center or qualified healthcare professional A calculated dose should not be interpreted as a statement that an exposure is safe, unsafe, toxic, or nontoxic.

4. Medical and Emergency Disclaimer

The application is not an emergency service and should not be used to delay urgent medical evaluation or treatment. For an actual or suspected poisoning, contact an appropriate poison center, qualified healthcare professional, or local emergency service. In a life-threatening situation, seek emergency assistance immediately. The application does not provide patient-specific medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Use of the application does not create a physician-patient, clinician-patient, consultant, or other professional relationship between the user and MedicalToxic.

5. User Responsibility

You are responsible for independently verifying all information used in a calculation, including: • Exact product and manufacturer • Active ingredient or ingredients • Product concentration and label strength • Formulation and dosage form • Amount reportedly ingested • Unit of measurement • Route of exposure • Time and pattern of exposure • Patient weight • Completeness and reliability of the reported history You are also responsible for confirming that the selected calculation method, standardized ingredient form, conversion factor, and resulting units are appropriate for the substance and clinical circumstances.

6. Limitations of Calculations

Calculation results may be affected by: • Incorrect or incomplete inputs • Uncertain ingestion histories • Product-label variations • Formulation differences • Incorrect unit selection • Rounding • Product reformulation • Typographical errors • Unsupported products or concentrations • Software or technical limitations The application cannot confirm that the information entered by the user matches the actual product, exposure, patient, or clinical circumstances. Results should be reviewed using independent clinical judgment and appropriate medical toxicology references before they are used in patient care or documentation.

7. Professional Judgment

Healthcare professionals remain solely responsible for their clinical decisions, recommendations, documentation, and patient management. The application is intended to support, not replace: • Clinical assessment • Medical toxicology consultation • Poison-center evaluation • Product-label verification • Laboratory interpretation • Evidence-based references • Institutional policies and protocols Users who are not healthcare professionals should obtain advice from an appropriate poison center or qualified healthcare professional rather than relying solely on a calculation result.

8. Permitted Use

You may use the application for lawful purposes, including: • Clinical review • Medical toxicology education • Poison-center workflow • Research • Documentation support • Dose-estimation support You may not: • Use the application for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, or harmful purposes • Attempt to bypass, disable, damage, disrupt, or interfere with the application • Introduce malicious code, automated attacks, or excessive requests • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the application or its infrastructure • Misrepresent a calculation result as a diagnosis, treatment recommendation, or official poison-center determination • Copy, reproduce, resell, or commercially redistribute substantial portions of the application without permission • Use the application in a manner that infringes another person's rights

9. Patient-Identifying Information

The application is not designed to collect patient-identifying information. Do not enter patient names, complete dates of birth, medical record numbers, addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, insurance information, or other information that could identify a patient. Users are responsible for complying with applicable privacy laws, professional obligations, institutional policies, and documentation requirements.

10. Privacy

The application does not require an account and does not save or retain calculator inputs or calculation results. The application does not use cookies, analytics services, advertising trackers, marketing pixels, or behavioral profiling tools. Additional information is provided in the Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms and Conditions by reference.
