Community Terms and Conditions
Go to Community ProductLast updated on:September 2, 2026
1. Acceptance and Eligibility
By using the Medical Toxicology Community you accept these terms. You need an account to post, vote or save, and you must be 18 or older.
2. Not Medical Advice
Community is a professional discussion forum. Nothing on it is medical advice. • Answers are the opinions of the people who wrote them. They are not reviewed or endorsed by Medical Toxicology LLC before publication, and a highly-voted answer is not thereby correct. • Nothing here creates a clinician-patient relationship, with us or with any member. • Never act on a Community answer in place of clinical judgement, local protocol, or a consultation with your regional poison centre. In an emergency, contact emergency services or your poison control centre immediately. Do not post a question and wait.
3. Patient Privacy
Do not post patient-identifying information. This is a public, permanently indexed, international forum. Before you post, remove names, initials, dates of birth, exact dates of presentation, medical record and case numbers, addresses, employers, photographs showing identifiable features, and any rare combination of details that could single out one person in one place at one time. De-identify by rounding age, generalising timeframes, and omitting anything not clinically necessary to the question. If a case is so unusual that de-identification is impossible, do not post it here — take it to a colleague, your poison centre, or a formal case consultation. You are responsible for having the right to share what you post, including any consent or institutional approval your employer requires. We may remove any post we believe carries identifying information, without notice and without waiting for a complaint.
4. Content Rules
Do not post: • unlawful, defamatory, harassing or discriminatory content; • material you do not have the right to share; • advertising, spam or undisclosed promotion; • requests for or offers of controlled substances; • content encouraging self-harm or the misuse of a substance; • impersonation of another person, clinician or institution; • bulk or automated submissions. Do not misuse voting. No vote manipulation, no multiple accounts, no coordinated voting.
5. Your Content
You keep ownership of what you post. You grant Medical Toxicology LLC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licence to host, display, reproduce and distribute it as part of Community and to promote Community. The licence is perpetual because answers stay useful long after their author leaves, and withdrawing them would break threads other people depend on. It does not permit us to sell your content as a standalone product.
6. Moderation
We may remove content, lock threads, and suspend or terminate accounts, at our discretion, with or without notice. We are under no obligation to monitor content and we do not review it before publication. Where a problem is reported to us, we will act within a reasonable time. If your content is removed, you may ask us to reconsider through the contact form.
7. Our Platform
Community's software, design and tag taxonomy are owned by Medical Toxicology LLC. Questions and answers belong to their authors, licensed to us under section 5. You may not scrape Community in bulk, republish it wholesale, or use it to train a machine-learning model without our written permission.
8. Disclaimers and Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Community is provided "as is" and "as available". We are not liable for content posted by members, for your reliance on any answer, or for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
9. Termination
You may delete your account at any time; section 7 of the privacy policy governs what happens to your content. We may suspend or terminate your access for breach of these terms.
10. Governing Law, Changes and Contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The courts of Arizona have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. We may update these terms. Material changes will be published here with a new "last updated" date.
