By accessing or using the ToxPubMed tool ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. The Service is provided by Medical Toxicology LLC, an Arizona, United States-based company, free of charge and without user registration. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use the Service.
2. Intended Use

The tool may be used for: • Medical toxicology literature search • Academic research and professional reference • Medical education and training • Poison center education • Evidence triage and topic exploration • Review of PubMed-indexed toxicology records ToxPubMed is intended for educational, academic, research, and professional medical use.
3. Medical Disclaimer
ToxPubMed supports literature review but does not replace clinical judgment. ToxPubMed retrieves and organizes biomedical literature records, ranked evidence cards, confidence signals, study-design tags, PubMed links, and selected abstract evidence. The Service does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment recommendations, prescribing instructions, or patient-specific clinical guidance. Users must rely on their own clinical expertise, review original sources directly, assess each patient's unique context, and independently verify all information before applying it in clinical, academic, research, or professional settings. ToxPubMed is not a certified medical device under U.S. FDA regulations or the EU Medical Device Regulation (MDR), and should not be treated as such. Medical Toxicology LLC assumes no responsibility for clinical decisions, treatment outcomes, research conclusions, educational use, or any harm resulting from reliance on this tool.
4. Literature Accuracy and Limitations
ToxPubMed retrieves and ranks literature based on available citation data, abstracts, metadata, indexing, search logic, filters, and confidence signals. Results may be incomplete, outdated, incorrectly ranked, or missing relevant studies. Abstracts may not fully reflect article methodology, limitations, adverse events, conflicts of interest, subgroup findings, or conclusions. A high-confidence result means that the system estimates the record is relevant to the search query. It does not mean that the study is definitive, unbiased, practice-changing, or sufficient for clinical decision-making. Users should review the original PubMed record, full abstract, and full article whenever available.
5. No Emergency Use
ToxPubMed is not an emergency service. For poisoning emergencies or urgent clinical situations, contact emergency medical services, an emergency department, a poison center, a medical toxicologist, or another qualified healthcare professional. In the United States, Poison Help is available at: 1-800-222-1222
6. No Patient Data or PHI
ToxPubMed is not intended to collect, store, transmit, or process protected health information or patient-specific medical information. Users must not enter: • Patient names • Medical record numbers • Dates of birth • Addresses • Phone numbers • Email addresses • Case numbers • Photographs • Any other identifiable patient information Use general, de-identified clinical concepts only. Example of acceptable search wording: "acetaminophen poisoning NAC two-bag three-bag regimen" Example of unacceptable search wording: "John Smith DOB 1/1/1980 acetaminophen overdose at Hospital X"
