ToxCalc is an online calculator that allows you to enter a **substance name** and an **ingested dose** and/or **serum/blood level** to help estimate whether the amount may fall within a potentially toxic range.
2. Educational / informational use only (No medical advice)
ToxCalc is provided for **educational, research, and informational purposes only**. It does **not** provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is **not** a substitute for professional clinical judgment or poison center guidance. **Not for emergencies:** If you believe there is an emergency, call local emergency services and/or your regional poison center immediately.
3. No professional relationship
Using ToxCalc does **not** create any physician–patient relationship, consultant–client relationship, or other professional relationship with Medical Toxicology LLC.
4. Your responsibilities
You are solely responsible for: - verifying inputs and outputs for accuracy and appropriateness, - using professional judgment and appropriate references, - complying with laws, regulations, and your organization's policies. **Do not rely on ToxCalc as the sole basis for high-risk or time-critical decisions.**
5. Inputs you provide (do not enter sensitive/personal data)
ToxCalc does not require patient-identifying information. You agree not to enter: - patient names, dates of birth, medical record numbers, addresses, or other identifiers, - confidential information you do not have the right to share.
6. Privacy
Our **Privacy Policy** explains how information is handled when you use ToxCalc and is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to: - use the Service for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes, - attempt to gain unauthorized access, bypass security, or disrupt the Service, - introduce malware or run excessive automated requests (bots/scraping) that degrade performance, - reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code except where prohibited by law. We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access if we believe you are violating these Terms or creating risk to others or the Service.
8. Intellectual property
The Service and its content, design, and software are owned by Medical Toxicology LLC or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for lawful internal, educational, or informational purposes in accordance with these Terms. You may not sell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission.

We may modify, update, limit, or discontinue the Service at any time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or that the Service will be error-free.

**THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE."** To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Outputs may contain errors, omissions, or simplifications. You are responsible for confirming results with appropriate clinical references and professional resources.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Medical Toxicology LLC and its owners, employees, contractors, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages (including loss of profits, data, or goodwill) arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service. If liability cannot be excluded, our total liability will be limited to the amount you paid to use the Service in the **12 months** before the event giving rise to the claim (or **USD $100** if you paid nothing), unless applicable law requires otherwise.
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Medical Toxicology LLC from and against claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: - your use of the Service, - your violation of these Terms, - your violation of any law or third-party right.
13. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the **State of Arizona, USA**, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Unless prohibited by applicable law, disputes will be brought in state or federal courts located in **Arizona**, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time by posting an updated version on our website and changing the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
